Valentines might be my favorite day of the whole year. I love this holiday so much because it makes the things I like to do all year (i.e kiss, hold hands, buy presents, eat gourmet food, and buy See’s Candy by the pound) totally acceptable. Yes, today is Valentines but to skip straight to blogging about that would cut out a lot of good stuff that has happened in the past couple of weeks. We have managed to find a way to sneak down to California once a month since Thanksgiving and thanks to Nick, and some finalized adoption paperwork, we were able to continue the streak in January.

We were sealed to our little brother the afternoon of this 15th birthday and followed it up with a little birthday celebration!

I need to take this opportunity to next discuss the joys of being home with my mother. Everyday with this woman is a new surprise. Whether it's a chatty email at 4:10am, sending me three packages in ONE week at EFY (seriously), or a chocolate cake that is so good Wyatt hovers in the kitchen for hours with a fork in hand, everything she does is spectacular. One thing she is notorious for is being the last to leave. I took a moment to document her shutting down Marshalls the last time I was home. I think these were taken about 45-minutes after close.

Mom, you are my idol.

Speaking of idols, how can I not mention this girl. The only girl I know who actually wears a hole through her high heels. The girl who not only got the freckle genes in our family, but the narrow hips and the great singing voice ones as well. She is fabulous.
